Scott White Advisors Wins Award, Supports Fort Myers High School

FORT MYERS, Florida, November 17, 2018— When A. Scott White of Scott White Advisors in Fort Myers received a financial services industry award, he elected to donate the value of his award to support Fort Myers High School.

White was named a member of the 2019 Executive Council for Raymond James Financial Services. In lieu of receiving a glass display for his office, White elected to use award proceeds to support FMHS academic projects through Odyssey of the Mind competitions.  Odyssey of the Mind focuses on students using their creative ability to solve problems. FMHS student groups qualifying for state and national Odyssey of the Mind competitions, along with parents and faculty sponsors, used award proceeds for materials for their projects.

Joni Logan, Fort Myers High School Principal from 1994 to 2000, volunteers with White in the Fort Myers Rotary Club.  After retiring in 2000, Logan continued to work with the school through the Fort Myers Rotary Adopt-a School program, and she conveyed the gift to the school.

“Scott’s donation to the school helped students in their endeavors. He is a true supporter of our students and what goes on in our schools,” Logan said.  Scott and Adriana White’s children graduated from Fort Myers High School.

In addition to his volunteer work with the Fort Myers Rotary Club, White is president of the HOPE Clubhouse board of directors, a senior advisor and past board member for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and a member of the board for the United Way of Lee County. The American Red Cross of Lee County honored Scott with its 2009 Legacy Award in honor of his contributions in promoting and facilitating charitable giving in the Lee County community.

“I’m happy to support FMHS and the outstanding nonprofit organizations in our community,” White said. “The Fort Myers School District does a great job educating our children and I’m pleased to contribute to their Odyssey of Mind competition teams.”

With more than 30 years in the financial services industry, White was selected from 3,900 independent financial advisors for membership in the Executive Council. This is the thirteenth consecutive year White has won the award. Membership is based on prior fiscal year production and re-qualification is required annually.
